in a faraway and forgotten land, where wars were fought almost yearly, there was a kingdom with a great legacy of battles, where it had never been defeated. it was ruled by a king, and the king had a council of advisors. these ministers were elected by the people of the nation every year to take charge of the taxes, education and, being the strongest nation of its time, relationships wif other nations.

it had an army of knights, strong n valiant, chosen by the council, and they had a captain, knighted by the king himself. these knights fought for the king, without doubt or question, regardless of the perils they might face.

there was once, when the kingdom was heavily seiged by the enemy, and the knights could barely hold them back..all seemed lost, for the enemy had broken through the walls and were storming the city. however, when it seemed that the end of the kingdom was near, there came an act of courage that was never seen before. the farmers, armed with nothing but their spades and ploughs, without any armour, joined the knights and their captain in an effort to repel the invaders. many farmers fell in the process, but they gave wad they had, without any obligation to fight but doing wad little they could for their nation.

finally, they succeded and the invaders were driven back, leaving the kingdom scarred and wounded. to commend the defenders for their valour, the king granted each of the knights a suit of armour and rewarded them with much gifts. the council, being responsible for recruiting the knights, were rewarded too. the farmers, however, were left out, as they were but farmers. had their efforts gone unnoticed, unappreciated?if not for the farmers, there might be nothing left of the kingdom but rubble and a memory of what was a great nation..

one does wonder, how does the kingdom thrive when things like this happen. one would be disappointed at the king for overlooking the efforts and contributions of these farmers. nonetheless, life goes on, and the farmers continued giving to the kingdom, silently working in the fields, never noticed, but always giving what they have to the king and his kingdom, where all glory goes to the king, his council and his knights...
